Going all the way back to a post made in July of 2007, you can see a picture of a Dutch kids programme shooting an episode in our cleanroom and at the vibration facility. It took them a while to piece the whole thing together and they promised us to air it on the 1-year anniversary of the sallite that’s coming up. Unfortunately this is not going to happen since they already broadcast it on the 16th of March. The episode is available online. Please note that it is entirely in Dutch but it is well worth watching because of some nice live shots of the cleanroom and the vibration test.

You can watch the episode at http://player.omroep.nl/?aflID=9308737

ps: the satellite is still performing well coming up on it’s 1-year in orbit

The response from the radio-amateur community that we have received up until this point has been overwhelming and we would like to thank all of the people that are listening to Delfi-C3 and submitting her telemetry to us! One of the radio-amateurs even went through the trouble of designing and building a cardboard model of our little satellite

All the credits go the Stefan Wagener, VE4NSA, for this fantastic-looking and very realistic model of Delfi-C3.

You can also build it yourself, just download the model & assembly instructions and get out the scissors and the glue

The wait is almost over. The telemetry decoding software for Delfi-C3 will be released after this weekend after we do a couple of final adjustments and make sure everything is in working order for the big day

In the meantime we have added a mission operations page to our website, which contains the latest operational information about Delfi-C3. We have also already added an information page about the telemetry decoding software. On this page you can find all the information you need about the software and how to use it. We would like to encourage everyone who wants to participate in the data collection in the near future to go ahead an get an account (details on how to do this are on the page). This way we will already get an idea about how many people will participate and how they are spread geographically. After this weekend you will also be able to download the software from the same page

Update April 21st: the telemetry decoding software is now available!

A couple of minutes ago the launch preparation team has arrived at the Delft University after an exhausting 24-hour trip from Chennai. We apologize for the lack of updates in the last 5 days but there was not much too tell on the two days off, and those were followed by a couple of extremely busy days in which we performed the final steps of preparing Delfi-C3 for launch. Delfi-C3 has been placed in its X-POD and left in the cleanroom at Sriharikota, giving the launch team mixed feelings about leaving without it.

Now that we are back home we can say that all the checks and tests have been performed to satisfaction and we are convinced that Delfi-C3 is completely ready for a launch. Right now we will start to focus on the launch and early operations phase but we’ll keep you updated

We have two days off, due to Indian national holiday. so it’s time to relax and take a break together with the other satellite teams. Today’s work included fastening the solar panels, and checking out the wireless sun sensors. All went fine, and we are still ahead of schedule. In the morning, a meeting was held with the launch vehicle team, in which every satellite on our launch was discussed. Furthermore, the team had the opportunity to take a look at the 4th stage, as it was being rolled out of the assembly building. It was a great sight to see part of the launch vehicle which will carry Delfi-C3 up to space.

At this very moment, the team is building up the satellite into launch configuration, which means attaching the solar panels, the wireless sun sensors, and applying the final pieces of thermal tape and locking glue. All major health checks have been successfully completed up to this point so we know the spacecraft is in good health. Furthermore, the linear transponder was tested for the last time before launch, and it worked just fine.

Tomorrow is the last day we can work before we have two days off due to Indian national holidays.
